This is a 3 day PD package:

a)  Day 1: Setting common ground

This session is about the structure and dimension of NGSS. In this session, the trainer will go through each dimension of NGSS and explain its aspects. This will be done in an interactive way where teachers are involved most of the time in activities that will make them discover and conclude as is required by NGSS, rather than being lectured. The trainer will provide supporting documents that can be used as a reliable reference for teachers after the training is over.

Who should attend:
•     Schools that are planning to adopt the NGSS.
•     K-12 teachers with no experience with the NGSS.
•     K-12 teachers with minimum experience with the NGSS.
•     K-12 teachers who still find it difficult to understand the basics of the NGSS.

b)  Day 2: Planning:

This session aims to help teachers in the planning process showing them how to think about NGSS from different perspectives, whilst leaving each teacher the opportunity to decide which approach is most suitable for the context. It will also introduce a method where the old planning could be used to save a need to completely re-plan the course.  It will also involve interactive group work, planning a lesson and delivering it in a practical way. The session will highlight different teaching strategies to be considered while delivering the NGSS.
