Focal Point believes that safety does not happen by accident. For us safety first is safety always! Its not a gadget but a state of mind.
Protection and preparedness are critical considerations in everything we do at training sessions for child day care & nursery centers.
MODULES
First aid qualification
Participants undergo an accredited full-day EFR Course which includes the Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid) programs. These programs follow emergency considerations and protocols from the consensus view of the Basic Life Support (BLS) Working Group of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR)
Health and hygiene
This module focuses on the role and responsibility of the Nursery Nurse which involves discussions on healthy nutrition practices, and overall hygiene and cleanliness of the nursery.
Safety and security
Children have a right to safety and security. The focus of this module is on providing safe and hygienic buildings, facilities and environment, recruiting the right female supervisors and daily inspections and maintenance of equipment.
A partnership is 'an arrangement where parties agree to cooperate to advance their mutual interests'.
The mutual interest Focal Point is concerned with here is the child. Parents are children's first and most enduring educators.
MODULES
Parents as partners
Module involves training on fulfilling the nursery's obligation to parents and children, which includes respect for all stakeholders, their participation and involvement in designing programs which support this partnership.
Informing parents
Parents and guardians want to be informed and kept updated about their child's development, activities and performance. The trainer will guide participants on how to inform the parents on nursery times, schedules and services, handover safety rules, registration and fee payment policies and procedures.
With topics such as using effective presentation tools to communicate with parents and members of the community, developing and using websites as a medium of communication, the attendees will be coached on what the most effective and cost friendly methods are to achieve a high communication standard.
Focal Point's unique approach is based on providing the philosophy to teachers & parents that young children learn best through hands-on experiences.
MODULES
Ages and stages
Introduction to child development is given through the renowned Piaget and Vygotsky development stages. Attendees learn about physical development and growth which includes movement and spatial progress, coordination between limbs, balance and posture and eye and coordination.
Let's talk
The emphasis on auditory and perceptual skills of children and babies is never too much. This module deals with the oral and aural development in children where auditory discrimination, perception and memory as well topics on as vocal association and synthesis are taught.
Smart kids
Early cognitive and intellectual development in children is one of the leading causes of an increased IQ in later stages of life. Attendees of this course learn to deal with and teach logic/reasoning and concept formation in young children.
