The Common Educational Proficiency Assessment is a standardised test with two exams: CEPA-English tests basic English proficiency and CEPA-Math measures basic math skills. All questions in CEPA-Math are written in both English and Arabic. A high CEPA score allows you to skip the Foundations programme and go directly into your chosen subject programme.

CEPA is a requirement for entry into Zayed University, United Arab Emirates University and the Higher Colleges of Technology.

STRUCTURE OF THE TEST : CEPA-English

Section	Duration	Task
Grammar and Vocabulary	Total test time: 2 hours	45 grammar and 40 vocabulary questions. All are multiple-choice, sentence-completion type questions.
Reading		3 texts with multiple choice questions
Writing		One opinion based essay of 150-200 words.

STUCTURE OF THE TEST: CEPA-Math

Math	90 Minutes	50 multiple choice questions covering number sense, basic data analysis, geometry, measurement and algebra.
