Essential Questions Workshop - Hosted by Focal Point: Education Consultancy

THIS ONE DAY (1) WORKSHOP IS DESIGNED FOR GRADE 1 - 12 TEACHERS AND SUBJECT COORDINATORS.
 
Essential Questions are questions that are not answerable with finality in a single lesson or a brief sentence. Their aim is to stimulate thought, to provoke inquiry, and to spark more questions, including thoughtful student questions, not just pat answers.
 
PARTICIPANTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
•   Explore the types of Essential Questions
•   Link Essential Questions to the main understanding
•   Implement and develop a lesson plan or a unit where Essential Questions are used to monitor students’ progress

On Wednesday, 14th June, 2017, Focal Point’s Education Division held an event for Principals and senior leaders in Al Ain schools. A panel comprising of three of the city’s high-performing principals: Ms Dalia Kamel (Gulf International Private Academy), Ms Alaa Al Joburi (Future International Academy) and Mr Rocky Miller (GEMS Our Own English High School) and chaired by Ms Judith Finnemore, Managing Consultant of Focal Point Management Consultancy, answered questions on topics such as the importance of strong leadership in a school’s success, how to integrate UAE applications into the curriculum, particularly when most are foreign.

And how to balance the desires of parents for more traditional approaches against the needs of the Irtiqa’a Inspection Framework for more active, student-centered, research-based learning. There was an opportunity for the panelists to answer questions from the floor regarding the things that made each of their schools distinctive, and how they dealt with promoting reading.

On Sunday, 23rd September 2018, Focal Point launched its newest brand of initiatives 'Building Blocks of Success' at the Hilton Hotel. The launch was presented by Focal Point's Education consultants, Amine and Nibras who shared new approaches with the aim of enhancing teaching and learning.
